A new poll released this week shows Sarah Palin would easily win a Senate race in 2010 against current Alaskan Senator Lisa Murkowski. The poll predicts a 55-31 margin for Sarah Palin.
Sarah Palin still has monster approval ratings in Alaska: 60% of respondents said they view Palin favorably, while 38% view her unfavorably. A 51% majority of Alaskans said they viewed Lisa Murkowski favorably, while 43% viewed her unfavorably.
For her part, current Senator Lisa Murkowski is preparing for a tough fight. She told Politico’s Manu Raju earlier this month that Sarah Palin would face a “tough election” if she decided to enter the race. Murkowski cited her seniority and service as the ranking Republican on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee to dissuade Palin from running.
